Homemade Chocolate Cream Spread

Make yourself a delicious homemade chocolate cream spread. This chocolate spread is divine on bread and it taste just like a chocolate spread should do – like chocolate. It takes under 10 minutes to make. You can add sweetener if you prefer it sweet. Add sweetener to hot milk and let it melt. It can be made both lactose free and gluten free.

Ingredients

  • 100 g baking chocolate
  • 100 g dark baking chocolate
  • 150 g whole milk
  • 1 tsp salt

Method

  1. Chop chocolate.
  2. Add milk and salt to a pan. Heat until hot but not boiling. Remove pan from the heat and add chopped chocolate. Stir with a spatula until melted. Transfer the pan back on to the heat if the chocolate does not melt.
  3. Blitz the melted chocolate smooth with a hand blender. Strain and transfer to a clean sterilzed glass jar. Let cool, then refrigerate until a thick and spreadable consistency. Store in refrigerator for about 1-2 weeks. If the chocolate spread are to firm, heat 10-25 seconds in microwave to make it spreadabel again.
